Types
of Home Health Care Services

Sitters
& Companions are non-medical caregivers who are not all licensed;
many have considerable experience in caring for the elderly. Sitters
and companions are just that; they sit with someone who may or may
not be ambulatory. They can assist them in many ways, but are not
allowed to perform hands-on services. As companions, they spend
time with the client just as a trusted friend would.
Homemakers
& Housekeepers assist clients by taking care of the home keeping
it in a clean and safe condition. They also may cook, do laundry,
and grocery shop, if desired.

Home
Health Aides & Nurse Aides are trained in giving hands-on care
to the elderly and infirm. In addition, nurse aides are licensed
by the State to also work in long-term care facilities.
In addition to what sitters and companions do, aides provide hands-on
assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing,
eating, personal and oral hygiene, toileting and grooming. They
also can do meal planning & preparation, grocery shopping, light
housekeeping, and laundry.
Nurses
are licensed to do assessments, IV therapy, dispense medications,
and develop care plans along with any activities done by our aides.
